Archbishop Clarence Ephram Davis, Sr., Ph.D. was born September 5, 1941 in Tampa, Florida, is married to Doctor Ada Jones Davis of St. Petersburg, Florida. They have three sons and one daughter: Clarence Jr., Byron, Eric and Cherry. The Archbishop’s academic credentials are impressive with degrees from several Colleges, Universities and Theological Seminaries. Academic preparation at these levels is important and essential for specific professional positions or for membership in some organizations; however, being called by God and ordained by a Church (Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Okinawa, Japan) are the fundamental requirements for the Christian Church and conditions for those who answer the call to the ministry. Archbishop Davis meets these requirements and conditions for pastoral responsibilities and has demonstrated outstanding qualities of spiritual leadership in and out of the Church. With the support and understanding of his wife of 51 years, Apostle, Dr. Ada Jones Davis, he is available to the body of Jesus Christ, visiting hospitals and counseling both personal and family.
Archbishop Davis retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of honorable service in Oct. 1980. His last assignment was that of Social Actions Officer for Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After retirement from the Air Force Archbishop Davis was the Chairman of the City of Oklahoma City Human Rights Commission. A position he held for more than eight (8) years. He also received two appointments from the Governor of the State of Oklahoma.
Archbishop Davis and his wife have been pastors in the following locations: Asst. Pastor, Mt. Sinai MB Church, Japan; Pastor of Vandenberg Gospel Church, Lompoc, Calif.; Pastor of Keflivick Baptist Church, Iceland; Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK; Pastor of Jesus’ Church Ministries, Oklahoma City, OK; and is now the Pastor of Joy Tabernacle Cathedral, Tampa, FL. In each of these churches, the hand of Almighty God has been seen as the Davis’ have led under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
Archbishop Davis was seen on his national and International television broadcast “In the Word” on PAX-TV five times each week.” For twelve years Archbishop Clarence and Dr. Ada Davis were also seen on "Praise the Lord" on Trinity Broadcasting Network, which was broadcasted bi-weekly. In addition, Jesus’ Church Ministries was seen weekly on their television broadcast "Born Again To Win" in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for many years. Archbishop and Dr. Ada Davis purchased the first African American owned Gospel Radio Station in the State of Oklahoma, KTLV, in 1988.
Archbishop is the Chancellor of Cornerstone University and Theological Seminary of Jerusalem, Israel. An internationally known University and Theological Seminary with a Twenty First-Century use of DVDs to teach each lesson. Campuses are in local churches around the world. This appointment was made on August 31, 1990. He has spoken to graduating classes in Africa, Israel and USA. Archbishop Davis leads groups to five (5) West Africa and Israel each year where they minister and work with thousands of Churches.
He was selected as "Outstanding Young Man of America," "Who's Who in American Religion" and Who’s Who in Religion in the South. There are additional awards that are too many to list.
Archbishop Davis is the King over The Kingdom - World For Jesus. There are over 25,600 churches from around the world that participates in The Kingdom. They are developing more churches in the USA at this time. Churches become part of The Kingdom to share the gospel around the world and to have a covering for their Church/Ministry. He is also King over the Ashanti Tribe in Ghana, West Africa. He is also the President of the Governance Board for Imagine Charter School of St. Petersburg, FL.
Archbishop Davis is a member of Eta Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. Fraternity, a member of Pastor’s on Patrol, President of Pastors In Prayer, a Tampa based organization that labors in prayer for the Tampa Bay area and Blake High School in which he is an alumna (Class of 1960).
